At last week’s Board meeting, the Board of Education officially received and reviewed the results of the recent Community Facilities Survey. A total of 475 community members completed the survey, which was available from April 26th to May 6th. 

Below are some key takeaways from the input provided:

The survey also provided details on various levels of capital referendum questions and asked respondents to indicate their potential support for each option. Should the Board of Education decide to place a referendum question on the November 2024 ballot, information collected from this survey will help determine priorities.

Board of Education Updates

As we approach the last day of school, just a reminder to practice safe driving procedures if you are picking your child up on the last day of school.  Please continue to be a positive role model and safe citizen by using seatbelts and being aware of other drivers and walkers.  Students enjoy waving, too, but should remain in their seats.  Please also be sure to update PikMyKid and/or your child’s teacher well in advance so everyone gets where they need to go successfully at 11 AM on the last day of school.  

Our drill for the month of May was a fire drill, which we practiced on Friday, May 17th.  Students are very proficient with this specific drill, and we are glad we have had the opportunities to successfully plan to be prepared, not scared, this school year.  Thank you for your support at home.  We help students prepare for drills using this conversation slide deck. 

Interested in a summer basketball opportunity? On August 5th – 7th (4:30-6:00 pm), girls entering Grades 3-8 are invited to a summer basketball camp coached by the SFHS Girls. For more information see HERE or contact Paul Houwers at [email protected].

The WI Department of Health has released new school immunization requirements for the 2024-25 school year. More information can be found HERE. In summary, any student entering 7th grade is required to get a meningococcal vaccine and students entering 12th grade must receive a meningococcal booster. TO: FAMILIES OF STUDENTS WHO HAVE MEDICATION AT SCHOOL

END OF YEAR MEDICATION PROCEDURE:

Families are reminded that they are expected to pick up their child’s medication at the end of the school year. Unless the student’s medication form indicates that they may carry and administer their own medication, the student may not transport their own medication home.  Medication must be picked up prior to the last day of school (Thursday, June 6th). We can not store any medication over the summer.
