A Message from the Principals

Happy New Year!  It’s crazy to think that we are already past the halfway point of the school year.  It is a great time to pause for students, families, and staff to reflect on what is going well, what can be improved, and set a goal for the second half of the school year.  As a Middle School, the goal that we will continue from the beginning of the school year is creating positive relationships with all of our students!

The midpoint of the school year is also the time for the next round of I-ready assessments.  The growth is a good indicator of all the hard work the students and staff have been working towards this year.  A reminder that all students are expected to pass two math and two reading lessons from their personal myPath.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.

Ryan Zak, SFMS Principal

Lindsey Schreurs, SFMS Associate Principal

Safety Update

In the month of January, the Middle School practiced a full medical response drill.  The drill includes our district nurses and our medical response team at the Middle School.  This drill consists of a scenario that takes place with the appropriate team members coming to assist.  An example could be a “bee sting” outside at the playground, causing a student to receive medical attention.
