spotlight, it is crucial to recognize and celebrate the unique
contributions and challenges faced by various communities. Among these
communities, the deaf population and those with hearing disabilities hold a
significant place. In fact, there are currently over 70 million deaf people

International Week of Deaf People, also known as Deaf Awareness Week, is an
annual global event that aims to shed light on the issues faced by the deaf
community, promote their culture and achievements, and foster a more

some words in American Sign Language. Please stop by the cafeteria windows

Attention students! We tried to keep visitors to a minimum for the upcoming
week due to all the excitement and activities of Homecoming. On Tuesday,
October 1, our LTC Start College Now rep will be in the Counseling Office
during SOAR to meet with any students who might have questions or want to
learn more about Start College Now classes. Please use your Google Form
sent out in emails to get signed up for this visit. On Wednesday, October 2,
Mr. Koepsell will be requesting students who signed up to take the PSAT
test during SOAR in the Counseling Office to get registered to take the
PSAT. If he is not able to get you on Wednesday, he will find you
Thursday, October 3 instead. Also, on Wednesday, October 2, our US Coast
Guard recruiter will be outside the cafeteria during lunches.

SFHS FBLA will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, September
26th in the high school gym, from 9:00am-2:00pm. Students and staff are
welcome and encouraged to donate. Students must be over the age of 16. All
students under the age of 17 must fill out a parental consent form, found
in Ms. Kuehne’s Room A147. Thank you for considering to save lives! Photo
ID’s are required.

FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA UPDATES

Those planning to join FBLA in Stevens Point at the Fall Leadership
Conference on November 4-5, please return your permission slips, club dues,
and FLC to Ms. Kuehne/ Mrs. Klahn before October 1st.

Those joining or interested in the FBLA Tournament Committee- our first
committee meeting is Tuesday, October 2nd during SOAR.

If any parents, friends, or family are interested in volunteering at SFHS
FBLA Regional Leadership Competition, please reach out to Ms. Kuehne (
[email protected]). We are looking for adults to judge
presentation events and volunteers to support FBLA members during
concessions and lunch service.

ALL FBLA TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE MEMBERS

There will be a meeting in Ms. Kuehne’s room (A147) next Wednesday during
SOAR (Oct 2). We will be planning our first tournament.

If you are a student who has at least a 3.4 GPA or above and are also a
junior or a senior in good standing please look for an important email from
Mrs. Franklin on how to apply for The National Honor Society. The emails
will go out today, Tuesday, September 24th, 2024. If you did not receive
an email with an application and you feel you should have, please contact
Mrs. Franklin directly. Current NHS students do not need to reapply.

Robotics: Robotics club meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm – 7pm in
room E108. If interested in learning more about Robotics or want to come to
a meeting, please reach out to Mr Schwinn, or anyone on the robotics team.

Robotics needs more than just designers, programmers, and fabricators. They
also need business people to handle finances and documentation.

Parents meeting for Robotics is Tuesday, October 1st from 6pm – 7pm in room
E108 of the high school.

Interested in joining KEY CLUB? Key Club is a student-led organization
which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build
character, and develop leadership through community and school related
service projects. Key Club is associated with the local Sheboygan Falls

annual global event that aims to shed light on the issues faced by the deaf

school year.

Attention students! More visitors are coming soon! On Wednesday, September
25 we will have a rep in the Counseling Office during SOAR from UW
Whitewater. You will have another Google Form in your email to fill out
for this visit. Also on Wednesday, September 25 during SOAR our YA rep will
be here to meet with students she is wanting to see. Mrs. Groth will
request you for SOAR that day if you are on her list. Finally, on
Wednesday, September 25 during lunches we will have a recruiter outside the
cafeteria from the US Coast Guard. As always, please feel free to go talk
with him, but return to the lunch room when you have finished.

sign up in the counseling office. The cost is $18 and must be paid to
reserve your spot. There are only 11 spots remaining. Deadline to sign up

standardized test before the ACT. The test will be taken on Oct. 16th.
