* HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS*

NHS applicants: You should hand in your application by October 19th if at
all possible. However, if you must hand it in on October 20th IN PERSON,
you may come to the school and drop it off in the vestibule outside the
main entrance doors for visitors. There will be a bin for NHS applications
out in the vestibule. You must have it in the bin by 3:15 pm. No
exceptions. *There will be no applications accepted by email.*

Seniors! Senior pictures for the yearbook are due Friday, December 22.
Portraits should be emailed to Adrianna Covert at
[email protected]. If you have any questions, or if you will
not be able to meet this deadline, contact Ms. Covert ASAP.

Spanish National Honors Society applications are available from your
Spanish teacher. Applications are due *Thursday, October 19th*. Por
favor, see your teacher if you have any questions.

Just a reminder: Picture retakes are next week Monday, 10/16, beginning at
8:00 a.m.

*It’s time for the annual Music Boosters Caan’s, Kringle and Cookie Dough
fundraiser! The sale runs from Monday 10/9 to Monday 10/23. The
fundraising forms have been emailed, posted on Facebook and copies will
be available to music students in class on Monday. Thank you for your
support!*

Attention students! We will have several visitors again next week at our
high school. On Thursday, October 12th, the U.S. Marines recruiter will be
outside the cafeteria during lunches. Please help these visitors feel
welcome.

Sophomores and Juniors-do you think you might be interested in doing a
Youth Apprenticeship next school year? Or do you want to learn more about
what a Youth Apprenticeship is? If so, we have a visitor coming to the
Counseling Office on Wednesday, October 11 during Enhancement to meet with
interested students. Please use the Google Form Mrs. Groth sent out in
emails to get signed up to meet with this visitor.

*Juniors and Seniors:* Would you like more information on more than 100
colleges and universities? Then the Wisconsin Education Fair
<www.wefs.org/> is an excellent opportunity for you. Mr. Koepsell
and Ms. Jarosch will be taking any current juniors and seniors who would
like to attend on Thursday, October 19. We will leave at approximately 9am
and return by 10:15am. There is no fee for attending this event. *You must
fill out the form below by Thursday, October 12 if you are interested.* There
are a few things you need to do in order to attend.

Any 10th or 11th grade students interested in taking the PSAT should sign
up in the Counseling Office. The test will be given on Wednesday, October
11, and will be an electronic test only-not paper and pencil. The cost of
the test is $18.00, and must be paid to save a spot. *There are only TWO
OPENINGS LEFT!!* The deadline to sign up is Thursday, September 28. The
PSAT is a good opportunity to practice a standardized test before the ACT,
and could also qualify you for scholarship opportunities if you do well.
Payment can be made by cash or check made out to SDSF. Any questions,
please contact Mr. Koepsell or Mrs. Groth.

*KEY CLUB MEETING:* The first Key Club Meeting will be Wednesday,
September 27 during Enhancement. Key Club is an international club that
provides students with opportunities to serve, develop leadership, and make
a positive impact on our community. The cost to join is $15 (dues to be
collected *after* our first meeting).

*There will be a meeting on Wednesday, October 4th at 5:30pm in room 140
for all students(and their parents) attending the Costa Rica trip.*

Everyone is invited and welcomed to join FBLA (Future Business Leaders of
America). Our first informational meeting will be held September 27th
during Enhancement (Homecoming week). You do NOT need to currently be
taking a business class to join FBLA.
