*Yearbook Staff Meeting Today 3:15-4:15*

SFMS Student Council is sponsoring a craft & vendor fair again this year.
It will be in the middle school gym on the same Satruday as Mainstreet
Memories, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. With over 40 crafters/vendors,
there is something for everyone. The high school culinary dept. is
providing delicious homemade concessions for breakfast and lunch.
Admission is free, so come and join us for some great shopping!

The holiday concert is planned for December 5, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the High
School Auditorium. Students should plan to arrive at 6:30 pm, and 6th, 7th,
and, 8th grade choruses report to the cafeteria.

Appropriate dress for this concert will be the following:

Boys: black dress pants, white dress shirt (short or long sleeves), black
socks, and black shoes.

Girls: black dress slacks or black skirt (knee length or longer), white
blouse (sleeves should cover the shoulder), black nylons or tights, black
shoes. Please no belts over shirts for women.

The dress rehearsal will be held on December 5, 2016 at 7:50 am. *Presto
Show Choir will rehearse at 7:15 am.* Students walking, riding the bus or
being dropped off by parents will report directly to the High School. We
will need parent supervision for this rehearsal. If any parent is
interested, please contact Mrs. Charbonneau by Friday, December 2, 2016.

The students should arrive back at the middle school at these times from
the morning rehearsal on December 7th: 6th grade – 9:00 am; 7th grade –
9:15 am; 8th grade – 9:30 am.

*HOLIDAY POETRY WORKSHOP & CONTEST!*

Open to students in grades 5 -8! You have the opportunity to participate in
an open writers workshop on *Tues. 11/29** and/or Thurs. 12/1* in the
ACTION Room. The workshop will be held during the entire recess/lunch
period, so bring your lunch with you. Students will write a holiday themed
poem in the style of their choosing, with coaching/assistance available
during the workshop. Poems will demonstrate originality, creativity, and
artistic quality. Qualifying poems will be entered in the Creative
Communications Poetry Contest for a chance to become a published poet. Students
may also bring in poems they have already written for consideration for the
contest. Pick up contest guidelines from the ACTION Room bulletin board and
come to the ACTION Room on *Tues. 11/29** and/or Thurs. 12/1 during the
recess/lunch period. *

*BOARD GAME CAFE~ *Open to all! Come to the ACTION Room to enjoy your
lunch while playing the board game of your choice. We’ll still have Chess
and Scrabble available, but other game choices too. You are free to bring a
game of your own from home. Grab a friend, pick up your lunch at the start
of your recess/lunch period and come to the BOARD GAME CAFE in the ACTION
Room on Friday, 12/2.

*EDIBLE ENGINEERING~ It’s time for our “Gingerbread House” building
contest!* Gather a team of friends, plan your project, collect your edible
building materials and join Mrs. Fiorini in the ACTION Room for this arts
enrichment opportunity! This project encourages cooperative, creative, and
artistic expression, and is a great way to get into the holiday spirit!
Student teams will design and build their edible structure during assigned
lunch/recess periods. Team building begins next week, so don’t delay and
miss out! The finished structures will be judged by our staff, with the
most creative and well executed going on to compete in the *Great
Gingerbread Village* *Holiday Festival* at the Waelderhaus in Kohler. All
remaining structures will be on display in our cafe for all to enjoy.

Fundraiser are invited to the Green and Gold Event!!!

You need to turn in a signed *Liability Waiver* Form to be eligible to
attend the Green and Gold Event. *Liability Waiver forms are due Thursday,
November 17th. *

Any parents who are interested in volunteering for supervision at the Green
and Gold should contact Mrs. Charbonneau, Mrs. Stowers, or Mrs. Winkler at
467-7880. You will need to have a current background check on file with the

*Tuesday, November 15*: Academic Gear Day (wear academic shirt/sweaters and
make sure the sign you will be receiving, “education completed”, is posted
by your classroom door or work area);

*Wednesday, November 16*: Education Support Professionals Day (wear green to
help us show thanks our exceptional support staff);

*Thursday, November 17*: Falcon Education Pride Day (wear purple and gold);
and

*Friday, November 18*: Exceptional Educators Day to support our
District’s vision.

*Student Council Members, *the November 21 meeting has been cancelled due
to Student Council’s participation in the MS Forensics meet that afternoon.

At every Middle School boys and girls basketball game and wrestling match
this year, Student Council sells concessions in the gym lobby. There is
pizza, candy, soda, popcorn, cookies, sausage sticks, and Krispie bars
available at prices between $0.75 and $1.50.

Student Council members Gretchen R. and Mackenzie B. are reminded that they
are working concessions on November 15 and Taylor A. and Peri S. are
working on November 17. Also, Autumn P., Greta D., and Hailey L. have
pledge the week of Nov. 14-18.

Breakfast starts at 7:30am, so teachers please do not allow students into
the school before that time. Thank you~

The 7th and 8th Grade Chorus students will be attending Phantom of the
Opera on December 21st from 9:15 am until 9:00 pm. Chorus students please
remember to hand in your $40.00 fee for the trip if you would like to
attend by November 18th. Checks can be made out to SDSF. Thanks, Mrs.

*WHAT’S POPPING IN THE ACTION ROOM? *

*EDIBLE ENGINEERING~ It’s time for our “Gingerbread House” building
contest!* Gather a team of friends, plan your project, collect your edible
building materials and join Mrs. Fiorini in the ACTION Room for this arts
enrichment opportunity! This project encourages cooperative, creative, and
artistic expression, and is a great way to get into the holiday spirit!
Student teams will design and build their edible structure during assigned
lunch/recess periods. Team building begins next week, so don’t delay and
miss out! The finished structures will be judged by our staff, with the
most creative and well executed going on to compete in the *Great
Gingerbread Village* *Holiday Festival* at the Waelderhaus in Kohler. All
remaining structures will be on display in our cafe for all to enjoy.

*CONGRATULATIONS to our SFMS FIRST LEGO LEAGUE TEAM!* This past Saturday,
our SFMS team competed with twenty-eight other teams from around the
state. They were judged in three main areas: Project/Research, Robot
Performance and Core Values/Teamwork. The team received the award and
recognition for Project Presentation! The award recognizes a team that
effectively communicates the problem they have identified and their
proposed solution to both the judges and other potential supporters. The
team acted in a Family Feud spoof that they wrote to show their innovative
solution to deer getting hit by cars. Team members include: Jacob B, Jack
B, Kaden B, Colton C, Grace H, Lucas B, Connor G, Aaron B and Nathaniel O.
Their project and award will be displayed in the library later this week.

Several churches in the community are teaming up with Salvation Army in
Sheboygan to help families in need of assistance this Christmas. The
Salvation Army is having intake day on Monday Nov. 14th from2 – 5 pm, but
(the date is not going to be advertised).

LOST – ‘Boot’ receiver for an FM system. *See picture below. It is small
rectangular piece (about 1/4 – 1/2″ long and only 1/4” x 1/8″ wide).
Estimated time of loss was sometime Monday afternoon (10/31). If found,
please bring it to the office or to Mrs. Henry in room 100. Reward to the

*“A” Day*

At every Middle School boys and girls basketball game and wrestling match
this year, Student Council sells concessions in the gym lobby. There is
pizza, candy, soda, popcorn, cookies, sausage sticks, and Krispie bars
available at prices between $0.75 and $1.50.

Student Council members Gretchen R. and Mackenzie B. are reminded that they
are working concessions on November 15 and Taylor A. and Peri S. are
working on November 17. Also, Autumn P., Greta D., and Hailey L. have
pledge the week of Nov. 14-18.

Breakfast starts at 7:30am, so teachers please do not allow students into
the school before that time. Thank you~

Several churches in the community are teaming up with Salvation Army in
Sheboygan to help families in need of assistance this Christmas. The
Salvation Army is having intake day on Monday Nov. 14th from2 – 5 pm, but
(the date is not going to be advertised).

*This little piece is in a sandwich zip lock bag and it has gone missing.
If you find it please bring to the MS office.*

LOST – ‘Boot’ receiver for an FM system. *See picture below. It is small
rectangular piece (about 1/4 – 1/2″ long and only 1/4” x 1/8″ wide).
Estimated time of loss was sometime Monday afternoon (10/31). If found,
please bring it to the office or to Mrs. Henry in room 100. Reward to the
finder! 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to be on the lookout!

The 7th and 8th Grade Chorus students will be attending Phantom of the
Opera on December 21st from 9:15 am until 9:00 pm. Chorus students please
remember to hand in your $40.00 fee for the trip if you would like to
attend by November 18th. Checks can be made out to SDSF. Thanks, Mrs.

Pick up your lunch at the start of your recess/lunch period and bring it to

*Yu-Gi-Oh Game! *If you’re into Yu-Gi-Oh, join come to the ACTION Room on
Friday, Nov. 11th during the lunch/recess period for Game Day!

*EDIBLE ENGINEERING~ It’s time for our “Gingerbread House” building
contest!* Gather a team of friends, plan your project, collect your edible
building materials and join Mrs. Fiorini in the ACTION Room for this arts
enrichment opportunity! This project encourages cooperative, creative, and
artistic expression, and is a great way to get into the holiday spirit!
Student teams will design and build their edible structure during assigned
lunch/recess periods. Team building begins next week, so don’t delay and
miss out! The finished structures will be judged by our staff, with the
most creative and well executed going on to compete in the *Great
Gingerbread Village* *Holiday Festival* at the Waelderhaus in Kohler. All
remaining structures will be on display in our cafe for all to enjoy.
