School Gym. Practice begins October 30th.

the Aquatic Center front desk, and all SF School offices.

*If you are interested in being a head or assistant coach for a boys or
girls 3rd-8th grade basketball team, please contact Bryan Hansen before
next Wednesday, September 21st at 467-7827
or [email protected]
<[email protected]>.* There
will be a Basketball Association meeting for all interested coaches on
Wednesday,
September 28, 2016 at 6:00pm in the Sheboygan Falls High School Library.

*Parents and Students:* making it to school on time is very important, not
only for your student but for not disturbing the other students in the
class. Students must be in their first class by 7:55. If they come in after
that time they will be marked tardy. Handbook states that after 2 tadies, a
letter will be sent home to make you aware and then 15 min of detention
will start each time following. Students will make up that time when 60
minutes has been accumulated. Due to the new school year this will be
enforced starting Monday, Sept .19th. Thank you for your cooperation.

*Parents: For the safety of the students, parent drop off & pickup, before
and after school is in the front of the school on School Street. Busses go
to the back on Guilford Street. Thank you for your cooperation! *

Thank you to all parents and students that have donated school supplies
this year. If you are in need of any supplies for your child, please don’t
hesitate having your students stop in the office and we will supply them
with what they need.

This week is *National Arts in Education Week!* We celebrate the impact
that the visual and performing arts have on our student learning. In
Sheboygan Falls, we are really fortunate that the arts are so strongly
supported and given priority. We also are lucky to have music and art
educators who are skilled performers, musicians, and artists themselves.

It’s time for our first ‘Lunch & Crunch’…Developing Good Study Habits!
During this L&C, students will watch a video that highlights several study
skills. The video begins by explaining several critical in-class skills and
then moves on to discuss successful techniques for studying at home.
Students will receive a few handouts detailing the study habits they
learned from the video. If you are interested in participating in this L&C,
please let Mr. Uselding know by the end of the day on Friday, September 16.
The Developing Good Study Skills L&C will be held during your lunch and
recess period on Thursday, September 22, in Room 121. Quickly get your
lunch (whether you eat first or second) and come right to Room 121 since we
only have 30 minutes. Thank you!

The 6-8 Girls Show Choir will be starting this week Friday, at 7:15 in room
119. We meet every Friday and is open to any girls in 6th through 8th
grade. If you are interested, please come this Friday, September 16th at
7:15 am.

Applications for joining the yearbook staff are now available!
Applications are located in the MS office. Return the completed application
(parent signature is required) to the box to the right behind the chairs
when you walk in the office no later than Friday, Sept. 30.

Meetings will be the second and fourth Monday after school each month.
Contact Mrs. Mansker, room 201, with any questions.

What is a ‘Lunch & Crunch’?! When students attend a ‘Lunch & Crunch’, they
will be gaining a bunch of useful information about a given topic in a
short period of time. Since we are covering a lot of information in one
lunch/recess period, we’re under a time-crunch, hence the name, ‘Lunch &
Crunch’! Students can expect videos, handouts, visuals and/or discussions
during a typical Lunch & Crunch. Possible topics include: Anxiety, Mental
Health, Stress, Mindfulness, developing self-confidence, making good
choices, handling intense emotions, Coping skills, Growth mindset. Please
watch the announcements for more information and to sign up for our first 2
‘Lunch & Crunch’ topics: Developing Good Study Habits and Becoming an

*“B” Day*

Attention 7th and 8th grade students! We will be holding our final Falcon
Store in the cafeteria on Friday, June 3rd in the Cafeteria during lunch
and recess. This is an opportunity for all students to spend their falcon
feathers earned by “staying above the line” on awesome prizes like snacks,
school supplies, and more! Prices will be slashed as this will be an end of
the year clearance sale brought to you by the Falcon Way! Go Falcons!

8th graders in Art:

If you want your “carnival cut out” artist potrait back, please email me
and let me know. Otherwise they will get tossed out over the summer.

Keep the Art going! Students, if you follow our Art Instagram here at
school (@fallsvisualarts), please direct-message any cool drawings, artsy
photos, or even awesome sidewalk chalk art you make over the summer and
we’ll continue to post artwork over the summer months. Also if you are
interested in summer art classes, Mrs. Fischer is teaching 2 classes at the
John Michael Kohler Arts Center this month, for kids up to 12 years old.
See their website for details.

*SF Rec Department to Offer Comic Book Workshop*

The Rec Department is once again partnering with StoreFront Gallery &
Studio in downtown Sheboygan Falls to offer a Comic Book Workshop on Saturday,
June 11th from 10:00am-12:00pm. The workshop is open to artists of all
ages. All the information, including registration forms, can be found on
the Rec Department website:
www.sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us/recdept/art-classes.cfm

8th Graders in Art: cumulative art folders from 5th grade have now been
sent home! If any 8th graders are NOT in Art Class this year, please stop
in and see Mrs. Fischer today to pick up your art folder.

*Whiz Kids* is a fundamental teaching camp for boys and girls entering
4th-9th grade. It has been directed for 40 years by Hall of Fame Coach Tom
Desotell of Sheboygan North and attracts young athletes who are serious
about improving their game the right way.

This is the largest fundamentals program in Sheboygan County and sessions
are held at Oostburg and Howards Grove High as well as our home base at
Sheboygan North. Car pools of athletes attended last summer from Oshkosh,
Port Washington, Kiel, Plymouth, Manitowoc, and Mequon. As you notice, we
offer several sessions after softball and summer baseball in August.

I personally oversee all sessions but both of our satellite camps at
Oostburg and Howards were quite full last summer.

Thank you,

Tom Desotell
Sheboygan North Emeritus

choice for many youths. These beverages have been linked to weight gain and
inattentive/ hyperactive behavior. Read the nutrition labels and you will
find in most circumstances water is the best choice.
