SFES Communicator – December 2018
December 2018
 Happy Winter to All!
 Winter Break is coming fast!
December 21 (last day before break) through January 2 (first day back).
Wondering how to keep the learning going over break? That’s simple! Keep reading! Research shows that reading to any age child daily for 20 minutes is beneficial for vocabulary development, fluency, comprehension and more. Plus, it makes great memories! Cozy up together and read.
American Education Week
AEW ended in a success with Falcon Pride. We couldn’t be more proud our educators who dedicate themselves to a lifelong journey of education, both personally and professionally.
Title I Family Night
Title 1 Family Night: Mrs. Salzman, Mrs. Reiter, Mrs. Anzia organized a wonderful event for families. Families had the opportunity to participate in reading, math and/or craft stations with their children. What a great way to spend some quality time together.

Sock Party
Mrs. Theil’s kindergarten had a sock party as a classroom reward. The kids incorporated their sock party into their writing time.
St. Jude’s Ranch Recycle Card Program
Ever wonder what to do with your holiday cards after the holiday season? Please join Sheboygan Falls Elementary to support St. Jude’s Ranch Recycle Card Program in their effort to provide teens with life and work skills. The teens learn important life skills by recycling and upcycling the holiday cards into something new. Proceeds help support St. Jude’s. After the holidays, we will have a collection box where you can donate holiday card fronts. It’s simple – cut off the fronts of any holiday cards and then place them in the donation box in front of the office. Thanks for participating.
Box Top Challenge
Falcon Families of SFES is holding it’s first contest of the year. The classroom, per grade level, that collects the most Box Tops will receive a pizza party!

Send your Box Tops to school labeled with your student’s name and classroom teacher (or we won’t know who to credit). All Tops that have been turned in so far this year have been credited for your class. Good luck!
Tuition Waiver
If you are anticipating a move or moving out of the Sheboygan Falls District during the current school year, your student can continue attending school in Sheboygan Falls. Please contact your building office, or the district office, to receive DPI Form PI-9419-A – Request for Tuition Waiver Due to Move, for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year. Completion of this form will enable your child to continue attending school in the Sheboygan Falls District even though you no longer live within the District boundaries for the remainder of this school year. An open enrollment application or alternate open enrollment application will then need to be completed for the 2019-2020 school year and beyond. Please call Julie Hahn at 467-7893 if you have any questions regarding tuition waivers or open enrollment.
