A Message from the Principals

What a successful and eventful “school launch” season it has been! Hopefully you are hearing about literacy and math routines as well as classroom community pieces that help your child feel connected and confident. New family engagement pieces this year include math unit standards sheets to help you learn about your child’s progress and see their math growth along with upcoming literacy pieces connected to our new literacy materials.

In addition to academic connections, we are almost to that very busy season filled with celebrations and community! Between now and then, you might hear about extra opportunities to engage with school, including supporting the literacy room, getting involved with Falcon Families, or just modeling enthusiasm for school and social connections.

Thank you for joining us on our learning journey in whatever way that helps you stay engaged. It means so much to your child and to us!

Lynn & Jen

Lynn Bub, SFES Principal

Jennifer Andrews, SFES Associate Principal

Calendar Changes:

2024-25 and 2025-26 School Years

In June of 2023, a group of teachers and staff met to discuss potential changes to the academic calendar, with a goal of maximizing student and teacher engagement in learning and instruction.

Identified Goals of the Committee:

  • Reduce the number of instructional days in June
  • Provide a consistent instructional schedule for students Monday – Friday
  • Maximize professional development by dedicating a full day, instead of Wednesday afternoons
  • Enhance student supervision / engagement in after-school activities
  • Offer families the opportunity to use periodic, longer weekends / holidays for family vacations / appointments instead of instructional days

Important Proposed Changes:

  • No early dismissal on Wednesdays
  • 4K program will run Monday through Thursday
  • More Fridays during the school year without students reporting; teacher professional development opportunities
  • School Start Time Changes
  • Elementary School: 7:55am – 3:08pm
  • AM 4K: 7:55am – 10:55am
  • PM 4K: 12:05pm – 3:08pm
  • Middle School: 7:50am – 3:10pm
  • High School: 7:45am – 3:15pm
  • Start / End Dates
  • 2024-25 ~ September 3rd, 2024 – May 30th, 2025 (Draft Calendar Here)

The School District of Sheboygan Falls holds its monthly regular board meetings on the third Monday of the month at 6:00 pm. Come join us on Monday, November 20th! You can find more information about upcoming meetings, your Board Members and more HERE.

Can’t make It? You can view the Board Agendas and Minutes at BoardDocs.com HERE.

Safety Update

October finds us practicing our first building safety drill.  Families received information via e-mail (please check your Infinite Campus settings or ask the office for assistance if you did not receive this information).

We help students prepare for drills using this conversation SLIDE DECK. Students do a great job learning about where to go in an emergency and practicing making safe choices.

Help Wanted

We need some help sorting books for our new literacy program. The books will be labeled and ready to organize into the right bin. We would love any help we can get as we cannot wait to get these books into our students’ hands.

If you are able to help, here is the LINK to sign up, thank you for your time and support!

Title I Family Week

This week, we learn about and celebrate our Title I schoolwide status, which provides academic support to students, professional development to staff, and engagement opportunities to families.  Thanks to those families who could join us to learn about Title I and to visit their child’s classroom.  If this time didn’t work for you, we hope to engage you in other ways in our school community.  To learn more about our work to support Literacy and Math at SFES through Title I, click HERE.

A Message from the Nurses –

Cold or Flu?

Fall is a beautiful time of year, but along with changes in the weather we start to see illnesses on the rise. The best way to prevent the spread of illness is to wash your hands thoroughly. If your family members start to feel sick, how do you know if it is a cold or the flu? Many of the symptoms are the same. Below is a reference that can help you determine if the symptoms you and / or your family member are experiencing is a cold or the flu.

If you have any questions, please email Nurse Amber or Nurse Deanna.
