Blankets for Comfort
Sheboygan Falls Middle School students to gave back to our community by making blankets to honor Carter, Ben and Natalie’s memory. The blankets made, were donated and given to children who are at Children’s Hospital and family members staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Mrs. Woodworth and Mrs. Miles opened up the FCE Room during Peaceful Start to provide students the opportunity to work on the blankets.
Families Join for Title 1 Event
On Tuesday, December 10th, families joined their children during their check-in to learn more about how teachers provide supports for all students. Students demonstrated to their parents how to they use Canvas, our learning management platform, in their classes. Teachers gave families a taste of what check-in looks like every morning for their children.

Thank you to those families who were able to join us for this first-time event.
Date Set for Required Human Growth & Development Advisory Committee Meeting
Wisconsin Statute 118.019 states that school districts that offer human growth and development must have an advisory committee appointed by the school board and composed of parents, teachers, school administrators, pupils, health care professionals, members of the clergy and other residents of the school district to advise on the design and implementation of the human growth and development curriculum and to review the curriculum. Although not included in the current statute, to keep the Human Growth and Development curriculum current, a regular review of the curriculum is recommended at least every three years.

Community and staff members are invited to the advisory meeting on January 20, 2020, from 4 to 5 pm in the District Office inside Sheboygan Falls High School. Community and staff members interested in participating should contact Director of Instruction Mary Lofy Blahnik at District Office 920-467-7893 or email

Project Grill Program
Eighth grade STEM students are now working on their mini grills! SFMS is one of two middle schools participating in this program, which is a precursor to the SFHS Project Grill Program, run by Mr. Teunissen. Thank you to BEMIS for their sponsorship and help from their HVAC staff for materials prep. Both eighth grade classes (1st and 2nd semester) will be able to participate, thanks to their generosity and support.

Notice to parents who are moving out of the district
If you are anticipating a move or moving out of the Sheboygan Falls District during the current school year, your student can continue attending school in Sheboygan Falls. Please contact your building office, or the district office, to receive DPI Form PI-9419-B – Request for Tuition Waiver Due to Move, for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Completion of this form will enable your child to continue attending school in the Sheboygan Falls District even though you no longer live within the District boundaries for the remainder of this school year. An open enrollment application or alternate open enrollment application will then need to be completed for the 2020-2021 school year and beyond. Please call Julie Hahn at 467-7893 if you have any questions regarding tuition waivers or open enrollment.
From the Nurses
As we go into winter break, the school nurses want to share that we expect the flu season to really start to roll-in when we return in January. For those of you who like data, take a peek at the most recent WI flu data:
Please talk to you children about good handwashing and covering your coughs to prevent the spread of flu. If you haven’t gotten your flu shots, over break would be a great time!!

From the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,

With January approaching, that means it is time for our eighth grade students and families to start to think about high school and the 2020-2021 school year. The high school is hosting their annual Freshman Curriculum Night on Monday, January 13th at 5:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for eighth graders and their families to learn more about the course offerings at the high school. Students and families are encouraged to attend as in the near future, students will be choosing the courses that they want to take during their ninth grade year. If you have any question about the scheduling process for incoming ninth grade, please contact Mr. Uselding, our School Counselor.

Sincerely,
SFMS Principal
